Old times Munich Marketplace, now Marienplatz. In the middle of the illustration the Mariens√§ule (Holy Mary’s column), erected in 1638 to commemorare the end of the Swedish occupation during the Thirty Years’War. The look of the city has changed considerably since, but the spirit didn’t.
