Product Description

A simple and effective method to obtain hydrogen from water: some metals such as potassium and sodium bind eagerly the oxygen of water even at room temperature thus releasing the corresponding hydrogen, which is collected in a closed cylinder filled with water and having its open end immersed in water. Sodium was preferred to potassium for the process as the reaction is less violent. A few bits of sodium were put in a mesh container and put (as fast as possible) under the opening of the collecting cylinder.
