Landscapes

You can still enjoy them today, even if to get there you must cross many more asphalted urbanized miles than your grandfathers did. There you take out your smartphone and shoot some pictures; in the past centuries though one took out charcoal and sketch pad, and stayed there until sundown immortalizing the same breathtaking scene. The best of those works made it to the workshop of an engraver who patiently scratched the scene with a steel tip onto a matrix, that in turn a printer would insert into the printing plates of a book. Centuries later an obsessed old girl would scan that book, trim the image to perfection and put it here 🙂
