Chemistry engraving – burning hydrogen produces pure water

How to prove that burning hydrogen produces pure water as ‘ash’. In the left-hand bottle bits of zinc are oxidised by a diluted sulphuric acid being poured in; the resulting hydrogen is collected through the second neck and exiccated in the horizontal pipe and burnt at the end of the thin S-shaped pipe, where the combustion product is collected in a bell. The bell clouds with mist that eventually condenses and drips down in a disk: it is pure water.
